Xeomin is a new alternative to Botox and Dysport. Xeomin is a neurotoxin preparation used like Botox and Dysport. Botox and Dysport containneurotoxin with inactive accessory proteins. In the Xeomin preparation these inactive accessory proteins have been removed to yield a “purer” neurotoxin preparation.

More about Xeomin

Xeomin is an FDA approved treatment option available for cosmetic purposes. It can be used by doctors (both on-label and off-label) to treat problems such as crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles as well as frown lines. Compared to Botox, Xeomin has shown similar results and has the benefit of having no additives, just botulinum toxin type A. What does having less additives mean for patients? Less additives suggest that patients may have a reduced risk of developing antibodies against Xeomin than they do with use of other available neurotoxins.

You will be able to see the effects of Xeomin within one week of treatment. You can expect the results to last anywhere between three and six months. Xeomin is said to be a non inferior alternative to Botox in terms of the onset and the duration of results of the treatment.
